Yunus Oguzhan Aloghu, executive vice president of the Istanbul Gold Exchange, met with the Diamond Dealers Club’s (DDC) executive leadership in New York Monday. Aloghu’s visit was meant to facilitate a discussion on improving diamond, jewelry and gold trade between the U.S. and Turkey.
“There are substantial opportunities for greater diamond trade between our two nations,” said DDC President Moshe Mosbacher. “It would be especially encouraging to American diamantaires who wish to do business in Turkey, if that nation removed any trade barriers. Doing so would provide a significant impetus for greater trade, which would also have a positive impact on other economic sectors, such as hotels, restaurants and tourism.
The New York DDC is the oldest and largest diamond-trading bourse in the United States.
