New French Factory Boosts Tiffany Production
March 13, 24(IDEX Online) - A new factory producing jewelry for Tiffany & Co has opened in France.
It is operated by the Orest Group, acquired by French luxury conglomerate LVMH last April. It also makes jewelry for Louis Vuitton and Dior.
LVMH, which acquired Tiffany in January 2021, says the new factory, in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, northeastern France, will help meet growing demand.
Orest, founded in 1963, opened a temporary manufacturing site in the town in March 2021 and expects the new building to accommodate 300 workers by the end of this year.
Around half the factory's capacity will be dedicated to Tiffany products, including all-gold designs from its Lock line (pictured).
"The inauguration of this new jewelry manufacture in the heart of the Vosges is a strong signal from Orest, from Tiffany and from the LVMH Group," said Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president - product, communications & industrial at Tiffany
"Orest is a symbol of the French jewelry excellence that has attracted clients the world over. This new facility enables Tiffany to expand its production capacity in France and accommodate our growth in all our markets, particularly in Europe."
