Proposal Woes: Diamond Ring Falls 120ft from Bridge
January 11, 26
(IDEX Online) - It was the perfect setting for a mid-winter wedding proposal - the landmark SkyBridge in Michigan, USA - until Trevor Van Camp dropped the diamond ring.
Danielle Jenkins said yes, just as the ring slipped from his fingers and fell through the grated metal deck of the bridge, at Boyne Mountain Ski Resort, plummeting 120ft onto the snow-covered slopes below.
The resort manager and others scoured the area below with a metal detector and at around 2am Trevor was finally able to slip the ring onto his fiancee's finger.
The couple, from nearby Rochester Hills, Michigan, were at the resort for a weekend getaway.
Trevor chose SkyBridge Michigan as a romantic venue to pop the question. It opened in 2022 as the world's longest timber-towered suspension -1,200ft long and with a glass-floored section.
Grab from couple's video of the engagement shows the moment Trevor dropped the ring.
