Instore Acquires JA New York Shows

(IDEX Online) - Instore, the B2B media and events brand, has acquired the JA (Jewelers of America) New York trade shows for an undisclosed sum.
It plans to "restore JA New York as a must-attend event on the industry calendar".
JA New York holds a Spring and Fall show every year, but hasn't held a Summer show since 2022.
It attracted an estimated 10,000 visitors and over 500 exhibitors before the Covid pandemic but has not released more recent attendance figures.
Instore announced the acquisition of JA New York from the private‑equity-backed B2B event organizer Emerald Holding, on 20 May.
Emerald wants to focus its energies on Couture (Las Vegas), the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, and NY Now (gift, home, lifestyle, and accessories) as its flagship, high‑margin shows.
Emerald Holding is itself being acquired by Apollo Funds, a major U.S. alternative-asset manager and private-equity firm.
Instore describes the acquisition as "a pivotal moment for the jewelry industry".
Matthijs Braakman, Instore's publisher, said: "JA New York exists to serve this industry, and everything we do will be built around that purpose.
"Our commitment is to create an event where independent retailers find real answers, suppliers find real connections, and the entire jewelry community leaves stronger than when they arrived."
