August 03, 26
(IDEX Online) - Two men were arrested at a US jewelry store, suspected of breaking through the front door with a circular metal cutter.
Surveillance video shows two suspects sawing their way into Karlos Jewelry and Diamonds, in Laurel, Maryland, then searching inside the store for valuables.
A police anti-burglary unit happened to be patrolling the area at 2am and noticed the suspects' car parked outside the store.
The officers were alerted after the owner received a break-in notification from the store's security system. They arrested two men.
Store owner Karlos Pelanto told local media that jewelry and diamonds were locked away in a safe and were untouched.
The front door was replaced and the store re-opened for business the following day.
