"$2m Jewel Thieves" Arrested after High-Speed Chase

(IDEX Online) - Five suspected jewel thieves are in custody following a high-speed interstate chase in the US.

They fled with cash, jewelry, and precious metals valued at more than $2 million after the heist at King Jewelers in Indianapolis on Monday (10 August), according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMDP).

Troopers using automated license‑plate readers spotted the car about 45 miles away in Clinton County, Indiana, near Lebanon, and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver refused to pull over, triggering a pursuit along I‑65 before officers finally forced the vehicle off the road.

Five occupants ran from the car into a nearby cornfield before being surrounded and taken into custody with the help of police drones, dogs, and a state police helicopter.

Police said no one was injured in the robbery or the pursuit. They have not yet said where the five suspects are being held or what charges they face.
