Brilliant Earth Launches the Elizabeth Taylor LAB GROWN Collection

(IDEX Online) - Brilliant Earth has partnered with the Elizabeth Taylor Estate to launch a 17-piece jewelry collection . . . using lab grown diamonds.

Taylor's own jewelry legacy was built around major natural diamonds, historic pearls and colored gemstones, many of them gifts from husbands and other close friends.

Her jewelry famously sold for what was then a record for any single collection, $137.24 million at Christie's, in December 2011.

Brilliant Earth's contemporary collection instead uses lab grown diamonds and gemstones to reinterpret that legacy for today's market.

The company was founded in 2005, is headquartered in San Francisco, and has sold lab growns, in addition to natural diamonds since 2012.

In a update on September 24, Beth Gerstein, CEO of Brilliant Earth, said: "Elizabeth Taylor was arguably the world's most famous lover of jewelry, and the Elizabeth Taylor Estate trusted Brilliant Earth to carry that legacy forward.

"That is not a responsibility we take lightly. Elizabeth Taylor didn't just wear jewelry - she embodied it, shaping how it is understood as a form of personal expression."

She made no mention of the decision to build the collection around lab grown, rather than natural diamonds.

The Brilliant Earth Ã- Elizabeth Taylor collection, developed in partnership with New York fine-jewelry manufacturer Clyde Duneier, Inc., will debut in Fall 2026 at brilliantearth.com and at Brilliant Earth showrooms.

Prices range from $995 for baguette lab grown huggie earrings to $15,000 for a tennis necklace with 17.66 carats of lab growns in 14-karat white gold.

An Asscher-cut cocktail ring featuring a 5.52-carat lab grown is priced at $10,000.

Other pieces use lab grown sapphires, emeralds, rubies and spinels. The designs include a floral halo suite, an ombre blue gemstone collection and step-cut lab grown diamonds in bezel settings.

Elizabeth Taylor died in Los Angeles in 2011, aged 79. She was one of Hollywood's most celebrated screen stars, best known for films including Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, for which she won her second Academy Award.

She was also famous for her extraordinary personal life, marrying eight times to seven men, including Richard Burton, whom she married twice.

Brilliant Earth says a portion of revenue from official House of Taylor products, including the new collection, will go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
