No Fear Of SARS For JCK Management
April 27, 03
JCK Show management has announced that at present there are no plans to ban exhibitors or visitors from the Far East from attending the Show.
The fear of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) which has currently claimed some 280 victims, had a devastating effect on the Basel Show, held earlier in the month. The Swiss Health Authority took the decision to exclude exhibitors arriving from effected areas. The result of which led to a Show which many summed up as a 'graveyard', with the precluded exhibitors planning to file a 2 billion dollar lawsuit against the Messe Basel Management.
This is a situation that the JCK Show Management is determined to avoid. However, back-up plans are in place should the current outbreak of SARS deteriorate. Precautionary measures are in place according to the JCK organizers, measures which can be implemented on very short notice if necessary.
