Tahera’s Jericho Project to Final Public Hearings
October 23, 03The Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) will conduct Final Public Hearing on the Jericho Diamond Project December 1-5, 2003, probably in the Nunavut communities of Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, and Gjoa Haven.
The Final Hearing gives stage to regulators and all other interested parties to voice their opinion on the environmental and socio-economic data contained in the Jericho Diamond Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
“This announcement indicates the commitment that the NIRB and other stakeholders have with respect to the Jericho Project environmental review process. The confirmation of the NIRB Hearing dates keeps Tahera on track with its development plans for the Jericho Diamond Project,” states R. Peter Gillin, Tahera Chairman and CEO, "and Tahera will fully participate in the process”.
The Final Hearings are one of the final milestones in the regulatory approval process. After the hearings the NIRB will decide on the approval of the Jericho Diamond Project.
