Alrosa To Implement Anti-Forgery Measures

Alrosa's president Vladimir Kalitin revealed during a presentation at the Antwerp Diamond Conference that his company is planning to mark its diamonds with a distinctive trademark using a special technology.

Alrosa is apparently concerned about possible attempts of diamond counterfeiting and plans to use a special new technology throughout the production process, Kalitin told the crowd.

The new technology will be implemented throughout its entire process, from the production of uncut diamonds to making jewelry and retail. The company also plans to offer the new technology to other companies interested in trade marking their diamonds.
