We expect already to see Hollywood celebrities swooshing down the red carpet, posing for a few photos and a couple of words to the press and then have their lent wardrobe and jewelry dissected in the media. The 61st Annual Golden Globe Awards was no different.

 

After disappearing into the awards ceremony hall with their fingers crossed with the hopes of winning an award, all we really want to know is who wore what jewelry, effecting buying trends in the months to come.

 

So, as anybody attending the trade shows of recent knows, the leading trend is the diamond right-hand ring.  A long list of Hollywood's leading ladies including Cynthia Nixon, Debra Messing, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Garner, Joan Rivers, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary Louis Parker, Portia de Rossi and Sarah Jessica Parker showed off their right-hand rings. 

 

Two stars who opted for a diamond ring on their left hand were the recently engaged Brittany Murphy, who showed off her new diamond engagement ring and the recently un-engaged Jennifer Lopez who replaced her 6.1 carat pink diamond engagement ring with a 14.59 carat oval-cut yellow diamond ring worn on the middle finger of her left hand.

 

Other leading diamond trends included diamond studs, diamond cluster earrings, important diamond bracelets and diamond brooches in the hair.

 

“As usual, diamonds were the real show-stoppers of this year's Golden Globes. The right-hand ring has been a recent trend in Hollywood and tonight was no different as several leading ladies drew attention to their right-hands with a lot of sparkle," said celebrity stylist, Deborah Waknin.
