Old and New is Hot in Vegas

Style-wise this year's JCK Show is seeing old and new favorites throughout. While there isn't an abundance of any breakthrough pieces, jewelers are happy playing a conservative game and stocking up on items they feel will be staples of the 2004/5 season.
Chandelier Earrings: Fashion pundits have recently been composing requiems for these pieces they feel are now over the hill. Designers though have thrown the requiems aside and are producing a slew of chandelier earrings based on Indian, Retro and Art-deco designs.
From the Maharajah collection to the Charleston spinners, dangly, oversized and intricately worked pieces are still proving to hit the mark with buyers.
Rings: Color and 'over and under' pieces are on the buyers order forms. Diamonds set in silver, diamonds with colorful semi-precious stones and huge cocktail rings inset with pave are setting the standards as the favorites for the season.
Over and under rings, from high-end pieces using diamonds and fancy colors lines criss-crossing each other, to mass-market appeal of semi-precious or the increasingly popular lab created sapphires and emeralds are also fast out the gate.
Companies selling created sapphire and emeralds are enjoying a resurgence in demand as buyers find their low price points increasingly appealing a high-end look at a low-end price.
