There is No Ideal Number of Sightholders - DTC

Referring to reports in the Israeli media today Lynette Hori, DTC London said: “I would like to point out that Varda Shine, DTC Sales Director, has had no discussions whatsoever on the Sightholder list whilst she has been in Tel Aviv.

 

“There is no preconceived idea on the ideal number of clients for the DTC and it would be inappropriate to speculate on this. The list is a direct consequence of our forecast availability in the goods, the applications for those goods from existing clients and new applicants and their relative scoring against each other,” she said.

“It is impossible to determine at this stage how many sightholders there are going to be next year but clearly if these factors remain relatively stable, then we would not anticipate significant changes to numbers, although, of course, new clients may join us and some existing clients might not compete as well and therefore not qualify to receive supply.”

“The Supplier of Choice system,” she added, “is dynamic and is designed to help us run our business efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the framework agreed with the European Commission.”
