Antwerp Diamond Manufacturer Teams Up With Celebrity Jeweler

Diamond company DD Manufacturing (DDM), a major DTC Sightholder, has purchased a stake in high-end celebrity jewelry and watch house Jacob & Co, its second investment in an up-market jeweler following its purchase of Daniel K last year.

 

Jacob & Co is a renowned jeweler among the celebrity circuit, and views the collaboration as a key part of a business strategy intended to drive growth through greater vertical integration.

Erez Daleyot’s DDM Group of companies is the largest Antwerp diamond polisher with eight factories in the city, amounting to about 15 percent of the city’s polishing output. DDM is expanding its retailing presence through Jacob & Co.

Jacob & Co placed a major marketing effort in motion. Together with DDM it is developing a new diamond cut, expected to launch next year, after opening a 2000 sq ft new flagship store on New York’s 57th Street, opposite the Four Seasons Hotel this coming November.

The Latin Singer and model, Thalia, has recently been selected to be the face of Jacob & Co. Approximately half of its jewelry is sold to men.
