DMCC officials viewed the quick sale as a vote of confidence in Dubai’s importance to the diamond industry. “The immense response is indicative of the market trust both within and outside the region in the future of Dubai as a key hub in the trade of gold, diamonds and commodities,” said the DMCC’s COO Ahmed bin Sulayem.
Total sellable area in the Almas Tower was over 725,000 square feet. Among the local clients were Damas, Taiba and Al Romaizan, all from the gold and diamond industry.
Almas Tower is a 65-story tower located at the heart of the DMCC’s 300-hectare development. The tower was built for regional and international diamond businesses, and features vault facilities, advanced security and IT infrastructure, retail outlets, cafes and restaurants and business center facilities. The tower will also become the permanent home for the Dubai Diamond Exchange.
