Chopard, Goldberg Team up For New Watch Venture
May 16, 05Diamond firm William Goldberg is teaming up with watch and jewelry brand Chopard to create a collection of watches featuring William Goldberg’s Ashoka Diamonds.
The Chopard Ashoka Watch Collection will initially offer six styles at retail price points ranging from $200,000 to more than $1 million. The unique timepieces will be available exclusively through Chopard’s 72 boutiques in 35 countries around the world.
The Ashoka Diamond, launched in 2000, has a patented design and is cut exclusively by William Goldberg. It is an elongated cushion cut with rounded corners and a diamond of extraordinary brilliance.
“We have a long-standing relationship with Chopard,” said Saul Goldberg, CEO of William Goldberg, and son of the company’s founder. “Our 50-year heritage of cutting some of the world’s most prestigious and historic diamonds like the Premier Rose, Beluga and Guinea Star, and our understanding of the super-affluent diamond buyer make us a perfect partner for the company in this new venture.”
William Goldberg and Chopard see the venture as the first step in a relationship that will go beyond unique diamond watch opportunities. The firms also plan to include distribution of William Goldberg’s rare and special diamonds for certain Chopard jewelry.
