JCK Las Vegas Packed, Colored Diamonds in Growing Demand
June 04, 05The opening day of the JCK Show saw strong foot traffic, with halls packed with visitors - something that hasn't been seen on the opening day of a jewelry show for quite a while.
High-end designers were enjoying an extremely busy Friday as buyers to whom price is no object, were looking to out bling each other. Items featuring natural colored diamonds are enjoying a situation of first come, first-served.
Unfortunately for buyers, production of these much-coveted rare gems is by no way keeping up with demand. A problem, the cultured diamond company, Gemesis has turned to their advantage, hiking up their lab-production of yellow diamonds three-fold in the past year.
Over in the Prestige Pavilion, Rand Diamonds were celebrating, having been awarded earlier in the week with the prestigious Couture Design Award in the Bridal Category at the 20th Annual Town & Country Couture Design Competition.
Another booth packed with eager visitors, perhaps for a reason other than jewelry, is that of the House of Taylor. With Kathy Ireland on hand talking about her new jewelry line and partnership with House of Taylor, buyers were flocking to the booth to find out more about the line (we presume).
An exclusive interview with Kathy Ireland will feature in the upcoming IDEX Magazine.
