Angolan President Meets Israeli Leaders

The second day of Angolan president Jose Eduardo dos Santos' state visit to Israel was mostly dedicated to top level meetings with the Israeli President Moshe Katzav, and Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert with whom he discussed ways to develop bilateral trade.
Angola 's majorexport to Israel is oil, and is one of Israel’s chief oil suppliers with an annual exports of $200 million. Angola also exports diamonds to Israel, and has recently started exporting about $20 million worth of rough diamonds a month.
Israel, which exports security, construction, communication and agricultural products to Angola is also keen on expanding trade.
The Angolan delegation, which includes the foreign minister, finance minister the minister of trade and industry and the minister of mining and natural resources, is today (Thursday) holding a seminar on business opportunities in Angola.
Israeli businessmen are mostly interested in diamonds and supplying military products.
