India’s Polished Exports Rise 19.2% in February
April 03, 06In the 10 months since April 2005 – the start of the current fiscal year – the center exported $8,363.18 million worth of polished diamonds, with a total weight of 26,837,000 carats. These figures represent a total decline of 13.54 percent from the 31,040,000 carats of polished diamonds exported during the comparable period a year ago.
Gold jewelry exports registered a jump in February after suffering from a weak year so far. During the month India exported $165.69 million in gold jewelry, 29.17 percent rise. During the April ‘05 – February ’06 period the country exported $ 3,302.34 million, a 2.79 percent decline.
