JCK Wrap Up
June 07, 06As the show ended, the votes were tallied. From Indian jewelry manufacturers to American toolmakers, from Israeli loose diamond dealers to Chinese pearl sellers - the results were mixed. Some were very happy, reporting good prices, new costumers, and many new contacts, while others were disappointed.
However many companies, especially diamond traders and jewelry manufacturers, had set meetings with existing clients in advance - ensuring a productive show.
The Israeli pavilion, perhaps thanks to recent branding efforts, was very busy throughout the show and sales were reportedly strong, especially on Monday. DTC Sightholders were very busy too, and their brokers visibly made the rounds, tending to their clients and trying to be helpful - with introductions, advice, and passing on the latest from the DTC and ad agency JWT.
As usual during the show, many seminars and social events took place, creating extra opportunities to learn, connect, and network.
Adjacent to the JCK show were a couple of other jewelry shows. LUXURY by JCK hosted Birks & Mayors, Bernie Robbins Jewelers, Borsheim’s, Sissy’s Log Cabin, Zadok Jewelers and many more.
Keynote speaker Alyce Alston, CEO of De Beers LV USA, focused on De Beer’s 'Brand Power and Mission' with its retail stores. “According to research, an estimated 95 percent of the U.S. knows De Beers as a diamond company,” said Alston.
Exhibitors and visitors were very positive about LUXURY. The Dine Out program Thursday night was a noted success. The show closed with an upbeat feeling.
Across the street from JCK's venue at the Venetian, Signature Salons was held at the Wynn hotel. In a much more intimate and relaxed atmosphere, higher end jewelers such as Stephen Webster, Roberto Coin, Aaron Basha, and Yossi Harari, alongside rising new comers such as Donald Huber, displayed unique items. Many of the items noted were big and colorful gemstones, hand made one of a kind creations, and intricate designs. Exhibitors at this show reported a successful show with good sales, good traffic from retailers, and many orders from new clients.
