Israel Diamond Industry Awards Presented at WDC

The Israeli Diamond Industry last night recognized the contribution of six leading figures to the global diamond community, with the presentation of the first Israel Diamond Industry Awards. Israel Diamond Exchange President Avi Paz and Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association President Moti Ganz presented the awards at the concluding Gala Dinner.
The six recipients of the awards were: Nicky Oppenheimer, Chairman of the De Beers Group; Shmuel Schnitzer, outgoing president of the WFDB; World Federation of Diamond Bourses; Lev Leviev, President of LLD Diamonds; Daniel Steinmetz, Co-Chairman of the Steinmetz Group of Companies; Alexander Nichiporuk, president, Alrosa Co. Ltd; and Robert A. Gannicott, chairman and CEO, Aber Diamond Corporation.
The glitzy event at the trendy old Tel Aviv harbor included musical performances by three leading Israeli singers that followed a speech by De Beers chairman Nicky Oppenheimer.
