No Price Surprises at Aber Tender
June 29, 06The recent tender from Canadian mining company Aber ended with average winning bids comparable to their regular prices, said a source in the company. Aber called the tender to check their rough diamond prices.
The tender, held last month, allowed Aber to examine their regular allocation prices against buying prices in the market. As hoped, a large number of diamond traders participated in the tender, which gave Aber a better understanding of market demand.
According to sources in the company, the results of the tender reinforced their current pricing.
This is Aber’s second tender. The first was held last November for the same reason. Both tenders replaced regular allocations, which take place 10 times a year.
