First ‘Gitanjali Exclusive’ Store Opened in Ahmedabad

Taking yet another major step in its retail expansion plans, Gitanjali Gems opened its first ‘Gitanjali Exclusive’ showroom in Ahmedabad earlier this week. The 1200 sq ft store was formally inaugurated by the brand ambassador of D’damas, the former Ms. India, actress Lara Dutta, and will house all of Gitanjali's existing brands under one roof. The store is the city’s first multi-brand jewelry showroom.

Rahul Vira, vice president marketing, Gitanjali Group, says that the store is an important step in the process of revolutionizing the way jewelry is retailed across India. “It caters to shoppers who seek to enjoy the shopping experience, while offering the people of Ahmedabad a whole range of jewelry and luxury products that they did not have access to earlier,” he said.

Manjunath Jyothinagar, president of the Gitanjali Group, said that there are plans to start two more luxury lifestyle stores in the state and set up another 30 across the country by March 2007.

Explaining the philosophy of the new retail initiatives, Mehul Choksi, chairman, Gitanjali Group, says, “The underlying objective is to further enhance the service and consumer experience in the stores.”
