Israeli Polished Exports Up 15.7% in August

Exports of polished diamonds from Israel increased 15.7 percent in August, totaling $522.9 million on exports of 338,105 carats. To date, exports have declined 1.6 percent in value to $4.439 billion and 8.1 percent in volume to 2,755,171 carats.

Average price per carat (p/c) of exported goods in August was $1546.59.

Polished diamond imports to Israel were also on the rise, gaining 7 percent to total $244.4 million and 1.6 percent to 227,545 carats for an average of $1074.22 p/c. This brings January-August imports to $2.413 billion on exports of 2.182 million carats. Since the start of the year, imports have declined 1.4 percent in value and 9 percent in volume.

Exports to the U.S. totaled $310.1 million in August; Exports to Hong Kong were $88.77 million, followed by Belgium with $42.2 million.
