Diamond Dealers Club Reelects Banda as President
October 29, 06The Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) has reelected Jacob Banda as president of the club. He received 85 percent of the vote. David Abraham was re-elected as vice president, Sylvain Ringer as secretary, and Elliot Krischer as treasurer.
Following the election, Banda stated that, “The contemporary diamond industry is facing critical challenges both in America and throughout the world. I look forward to working with our officers and board to improve business opportunities for all diamantaires while at the same time ensuring that we continue to provide the highest degree of consumer confidence in our industry.”
In alphabetical order, elected to the board were Eli Gottlieb, Yaron Hahami, Noach Klein, Aaron Landau, Tzvi Nof, Nissan Perla, David Samuels and Moshe Zwiebel. They will join the following sitting Board Members: Gary Dimenstein, Abraham Einhorn, Meilech Fastag, Basant Johari, Joseph Khafi, Philip Klein, Ray Perlman and Jacob Weinstock.
Established in 1931, the DDC is the voice of the American diamond industry and is the oldest and largest diamond-trading bourse in the United States. A member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, the DDC’s nearly 2,000 members come from across the United States, Europe, Japan, India, South Africa and Israel.
