The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC) announced the first Indo-US Jewelry Business Development Conference for jewelry retailers. Over 100 North American senior business development executives and directors of merchandise are invited for an all-expense paid, blue-ribbon jewelry business development event to be October 1-5.
According to GJEPC chairman Sanjay Kothari, India needs to actively explore new ways to add value to the jewelry pipeline, particularly work with leading retailers in North America.
The first two days of the conference will focus on issues facing North American and Indian jewelry businesses, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) initiatives, joint venture opportunities and Indian banking & finance options for North American businesses.
Additionally, retailers and Indian manufacturers will be paired to help foster initial discussions between companies. The third day will be dedicated to tours of manufacturing facilities around Mumbai.
On the fourth day, attendees will be taken on a tour of the Agra market and see the sunrise at the Taj Mahal.
