WFDB Appoints Michael Vaughan as Executive Director

Michael Vaughan has been appointed to be the first ever full-time executive director of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB). Ernest Blom, president of the WFDB, announced Vaughan’s appointment Wednesday after it had been ratified by the WFDB Executive Committee.

Vaughan will continue to serve in his position as WFDB secretary general, a post he has held since 2002.

The WFDB’s decision to appoint an executive director is a part of the federation’s desire to upgrade their operational and administrative infrastructure.

“Our intention is raise [the WFDB’s] profile in the industry, with programs like the WFDB Mark, and that requires an experienced, knowledgeable and proficient professional staff,” said Blom.
