Rio Tinto Diamond Mining Revenues at $445 Million
August 02, 07Mining giant Rio Tinto reported record first half of the year cash flow of $5.641 billion, an 11 percent increase from the first half of 2006. Diamond mining gross sales revenue totaled $445 million, up from $411 million in 2006.
The company’s net earnings were $3.253 billion, down 14 percent from 2006’s $3.796 billion, which was mainly a result of an impairment of Argyle.
Rio Tinto has 100 percent interest in the Argyle diamond mine in Australia, 60 percent in Canada’s Diavik and 77.8 percent in Murowa in Zimbabwe.
