Mouawad Sells 218 Carat Cushion Diamond

Jewelry and diamond collector Robert Mouawad sold in August a 218.08 carat, D-IF cushion diamond, the largest flawless cushion worldwide. The stone was named “The Star of Stanley Ho, Grand Lisboa, Macau” in honor of Dr. Stanley Ho’s contributions to the development of the gaming industry in Macau.

The “Star of Stanley Ho” is now the property of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. and will soon be put on display at the Casino Grand Lisboa. According to Dr. Ho, “the diamond represents a timeless quality that reflects SJM’s timeless commitment to Macau and its people.”

“It was a distinct privilege to be a part of this diamond’s history," Mouawad commented, "and I am delighted to turn its legacy over to the next owner.”

Mouawad’s collection of precious gems over the years has included the Jubilee, a cushion antique-shape 245.35 carat E/VVS2 stone; the Premier Rose, a pear shape 137.02 carat D/FL diamond; and the Queen of Holland, a cushion shape 135.92 carat D/IF diamond.
