Israel Rough Diamond Imports Average $311 p/c in October
November 04, 07 Israel imported $439.93 million worth of rough diamonds in October, a 19.3 percent decline compared to October 2006. In volume, imports fell 45.4 percent to 1,415,209 carats, for an average value of $310.86 per carat (p/c). Year-to-date, Israel has imported $4.098 billion worth of rough diamonds weighing 14,332,498 carats, averaging $285.96 p/c. compared to the first ten months of 2006, imports rose 10.1 percent in value and 16.1 percent in volume. Rough diamond exports of $348.19 million and 1,755,364 carats represented a 31.9 percent rise in value and 1.7 percent decline in volume compared to October 2006. Exports averaged $198.34 p/c.
