Blue Nile Q3 Net Sales Up 27% to $67.4 Million

Blue Nile is still growing strong, generating in the third quarter net sales of $67.4 million, a 26.5 percent increase over the $53.2 million of the previous year.
For the period ended September 30, the online jewelry retailer’s net income totaled $3 million, rising 63.6 percent year-over-year. Its operating income rose 67.3 percent to $3.6 million.
Third quarter gross profit increased 28.4 percent to $13.4 million, while international sales, representing the company’s Canada and U.K. websites, totaled $4.5 million in the third quarter, an increase of 104.5 percent year over year.
Blue Nile expects its fourth quarter net sales to be between $109 million and $115 million, and its projected annual net sales are expected to be between $316 and $322 million for 2007, meaning a year-over-year increase of between 25.6 and 28.0 percent. Net sales for 2006 totaled $251.6 million.
“Our results reflect the way in which the Blue Nile brand and experience resonate with our customers,” said Blue Nile CEO Mark Vadon.
