Saks November Comparable Store Sales Up 25.7%
December 10, 07Saks’ November comparable store sales increased 25.7 percent over November 2006. Owned sales for the month totaled $347.6 million, a 26.3 percent increase over the comparable period last year, in which owned sales were $275.3 million.
For the ten months ended December 1, owned sales totaled $2.611 billion, compared to $2.240 billion for the previous year, a 16.5 percent increase. Comparable store sales increased 14.5 percent for the ten-month period.
Saks noted that the strongest sales categories at Saks Fifth Avenue for November were women’s shoes, handbags, fine jewelry, men’s accessories, shoes and apparel, women’s “gold range” apparel, fragrances and outerwear. The weakest sales categories were Salon Z (women’s plus sizes), designer eveningwear, bridal and cosmetics.
