Rio Tinto Diamonds is Plumb Club Forum Presenting Sponsor

Rio Tinto Diamonds, the diamond sales and marketing arm of the mining giant, will be the Presenting Sponsor of the upcoming March 2-3 Plumb Club Forum, to be held at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Michael Rae, CEO of the Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices, will address event attendees on how to ensure an ethical jewelry supply chain. Rio Tinto Diamonds is a founding member of the CRJP.

The Plumb Club is hosting the invitation-only conference for its retail customers and will include speeches from Carly Fiorina, former chairman and CEO of Hewlett Packard; Kennedy Mamutenya, Namibia’s diamond commissioner, and industry experts Martin Rapaport, Chaim Even-Zohar, JVC’s Cecilia Gardner, AGTA’s Doug Hucker and Peggy Jo Donahue, director of public affairs for Jewelers of America.

Attendees will also hear a fashion-forward panel, with designer and FIT professor George Simonton, Glamour Fashion Editor-at-Large Suze Yalof Schwartz, and Swarovski’s Daniel Cohen, who will provide “Lessons to be learned from the fashion industry.”
