GemEx Wins Innovation Award
June 17, 08GemEx Systems has won a 2008 Innovation Quotient Award for “demonstrating superior innovation, creativity and profitability,” according to Randy Wagner, company president.
The firm makes diamond evaluation equipment used in diamond polishing facilities and retail jewelry stores worldwide. Its BrillianceScope measures white and color diamond’s light performance and scintillation.
Two of the largest jewelry retailers in the world, Zale and Sterling, found the tool to be a useful selling tool, giving the small Mequon, Wisconsin firm a major boost.
“Prior to the BrillianceScope, there was no precise way to quantify a diamond’s beauty,” says Wagner. “Consumers had to trust their own eyes. But the BrillianceScope scientifically verifies that they are purchasing an exceptionally brilliant and beautiful diamond.”
Several years ago, the company introduced the GemEx Live Report, an interactive report of all GemEx-analyzed diamonds in a jeweler’s database.
