Gemfields in Faberge Gemstones Deal

Gemfields Resources Plc. will use the Faberge brand name for colored gemstones, excluding diamonds, Thomson Financial News reported Monday. The brand license, acquired by Gemfields in June, covers an initial 15-year period.
The company reportedly has completed arrangements giving it an exclusive worldwide license.
According to Rajiv Gupta, founder and executive vice chairman of Gemfields, the company expects the first Faberge color gemstones to be available in 2009.
