GIA Open House: Classroom Demonstrations and New Displays

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will open its doors for its free, annual Jewelry Career Fair and Open House, on Friday, October 16. This is one of the few times when visitors can see the GIA's museum without having to pre-arrange a visit.

For those interested in education, classroom demonstrations will be held throughout the day so visitors can learn more about gemological education when they tour the institute.

Other new items include additions to the "Facets of GIA" exhibit. The collection includes 73 large, trilliant-cut gems representing different gem species in varieties of colors; these include tanzanite, emerald and aquamarines.
