Dubai Diamond Exchange’s New Board Holds Inaugural Meeting

Less than two months after the members of its board of directors were announced to the public, the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), a subsidiary of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), released information Sunday on the board’s inaugural meeting in Dubai.

The board met with the intent of reviewing strategy to enhance Dubai’s role in the global diamond trade and toured the DDE trading floor in the Almas Tower. The board also discussed how to update their “Diamond Masterplan” initiated two years ago, the release stated.

“DDE has gained global recognition and is ranked among the world’s top five rough diamond distributors,” said board member and DMCC Executive Chairmen Ahmed bin Sulayem. 

The DDE is a subsidiary of the DMCC. Among the high-profile new members of the DDE’s new board of directors are Dilip Mehta, CEO of Rosy Blue; Pankaj Mehta, CEO of Dimexon Eurostar; and Mahendra Parikh, chairman of Diarough NV.
