Alrosa Appoints Sakha Politician as VP

Alrosa has appointed Vasily Borisovich Grabtsevich as vice president of the diamond mining company. His responsibilities include interaction with Russian and Sakha as well as licensing activities, the company announced on Tuesday.

Grabtsevich, 59, holds a degree in civil engineering and has held various senior engineering positions, including chief engineer of an Alrosa owned construction company.

Since March 15, 2007, he held the post of first deputy chairman of the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
