January 12, 10 by Edon Ophir
Former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Madeleine K. Albright received the GEM Award for Style at the Jewelry Information Center’s (JIC) eighth annual GEM Awards gala on Friday in New York City. The evening also included The National Jeweler’s Retailer Hall of Fame, which inducted Richard Eiseman, Robert Rottenberg and Jon Bridge.
Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast., presented Albright with her award. Brown was one of many figures across the jewelry industry, politics and entertainment business in attendance. Simon Doonan, creative director of Barneys New York, hosted the event.
“Jewelry Information Center’s GEM Awards gala continues to surprise, excite and, most of all, entertain members of the fine jewelry and watch industry year after year. This year was no exception,” said Martin Gatins, GEM Awards chair.
