IDEX Online is the one industry resource where you can read articles and analysis from not just one but two of the businesses’ “biggest names:” Chaim Even-Zohar and Ken Gassman.
Chaim, a leading industry journalist and consultant, provides a weekly article that addresses the most important events taking place in the diamond trade. While Chaim keeps his eye on ensuring the industry stays on the straight and narrow, or at least reporting about it when it strays, Ken utilizes his extraordinary love of data to cover the retail side of the industry from a numerical perspective. Ken has been involved in the jewelry industry for almost 30 years. During a 20-year career as a Wall Street investment banker from 1981 through 2001, he worked with retailers and consumer goods producers, including virtually all of the companies in the global jewelry and diamond industry. He facilitated various transactions involving jewelry companies, including bringing Reeds Jewelers public, buying and selling various jewelry and diamond companies, and producing research on the global industry.
As Ken will tell you, he "flunked retirement." After his official retirement in 2001, he was prevailed upon by many in the jewelry and diamond industry to continue to produce research and analysis, both on public companies as well as broad industry trends. Ken's goal is to make complex financial and business operating metrics understandable for everyone.
