Blackened Silver, Pearls and Yellow Gold among Fine Jewelry Trends

Nearly 100 jewelry items from jewelry designers across the U.S. were showcased to jewelry editors and stylists, unveiling the newest jewelry trends that consumers will find in American stores later this year. Among them are blackened sterling silver jewelry, golden Philippine South Sea pearls, 22- and 24-karat yellow gold and saturated colored gemstones.

The showcase was part of the annual Fine Jewelry Preview and Luncheon held by the Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America.

“We carefully select and showcase the hottest new designers alongside respected jewelry houses at the event,” said Helena Krodel, JA’s director of media and special events.

Among the JIC selected jewelry from were items from jewelry designers K. Brunini, Sevan, Jewelmer, Coomi and Leon Megé. 

In July, JIC plans to launch a “Jewelry Trends” section at its website, www.JIC.org. The website serves as resource for jewelry and watch education, jewelry shopping tips and gift guides.

Each month, JIC will provide examples of a new jewelry trend and highlight the influencing factors.
