The two stone diamond ring, set in the 1970s by Bulgari, had an estimated sale price of $12 million. The sale went through a bidding war between an in-house bidder and a phone bidder. After five minutes of trading bids in increments of $500,000, the hammer fell and an anonymous Asian collector received the “sold!”
Total auction proceeds reached $52.5 million. Other notable items at the auction include a rectangular D color diamond listed as partially flawless 17.65 carat diamond ring that sold for $2.15 million, a pear-shaped D / VS1 17.86 carat diamond ring that sold for $1.8 million, a pear shaped D / IF 12.32 carat diamond that achieved $1.3 million and a rectangular D color diamond also listed as potentially flawless, weighing 12.21 carat diamond ring by Graff that brought $1.25 million.
