SBI Confirms It Is Setting Up A Botswana Branch

(IDEX Online News) - The State Bank of India (SBI), one of the world’s top diamond finance banks, confirmed today that it is in the process of setting up a branch in Botswana. A bank source confirmed to IDEX Online that the SBI had already filed papers for setting up the branch and that matters were now being processed by the Botswana banking regulatory authorities.
The branch is slated to be a full service office though naturally, diamond finance is seen as being its major activity. No time frame for the opening of the branch was given, with the bank saying matters depended on how long it took for the official process in Botswana to be completed.
