IDMA Accepted to RJC Membership
May 05, 11IDMA is the 11th trade association to join the RJC, joining more than 290 companies and trade associations in the Council’s membership.
“I am delighted that the International Diamond Manufacturers Association is a new Member of the Responsible Jewellery Council,” says Michael Rae, RJC’s CEO. “IDMA’s membership of the RJC and strong commitment to foster and promote the highest ideals of honesty and best practice principles throughout the global diamond industry, as well as full compliance with all national and international laws, will reinforce the Council’s mission, adding an impressive level of expertise from the diamond industry to RJC.”
IDMA decided to join the RJC on during its Presidents' Meeting preliminary sessions last month. "RJC's principles and objectives are in line with IDMA's Code of Conduct," says IDMA’s Secretary General, Ronnie VanderLinden. "Therefore, as we recognize and support the activities of the RJC, we want to be an active part of RJC's ongoing efforts."
IDMA was founded at the end of the Second World War and convened for the first time in Antwerp in 1946. It groups 16 diamond manufacturers associations in its membership from all over the world.
