India Polished Exports Rise in May
June 22, 11(IDEX Online News) – India’s gross polished diamond exports totaled $2.22 billion in May, growing 14.2% from last year, according to preliminary figures released by the GJEPC. By volume, exports increased by 17.7% to 5.04 million carats.
The average value of May’s gross exports increased to $440.68 p/c from $411.57 p/c in April as polished diamond prices kept growing in May.
Polished diamond imports in April reached $1.55 billion, a 54.3% year-over-year increase in value. The volume of these imports stood at 3.224 million carats.
India’s net exports in May were therefore 1.82 million carats with a stated value of $670 million, averaging $368.94 p/c.a
