July 27, 11(IDEX Online News) – Argor-Heraeus, the Swiss-headquartered precious metals refiner, has become certified against the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards established by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Member Certification System.
Founded in 1951, Argor-Heraeus processes precious metals, with a focus on refining precious metals from mines and industrial scrap and transforming precious metals into alloys and semi finished products for the watch and jewelry industry.
“We believe that truly lasting business success is only possible when our growth is founded on sustainable practices,” said Erhard Oberli, CEO and Vice Chairman of Argor-Heraeus.
"This commitment to sustainability has been in place for many years, far longer than its recent rise as a popular business trend. We have long been aware of the responsibility we carry in our activities and always strive to make a positive, lasting contribution through our actions. Achieving RJC Certification is a further testimonial of our solid commitment to responsible business practices," Oberli added.
“The RJC is delighted to congratulate Argor-Heraeus on their Certification,” said Michael Rae, RJC’s CEO. "As a member from the refining sector, Argor-Heraeus is positioned strategically at the mid-point of the precious metals supply chain. This sector provides an important link between suppliers and consumers."
