(IDEX Online News) – The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council has taken India’s participation in the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair a step forward with the India Pavilion being held in both of the fair's locations.
The Indian Pavilions are probably the largest country pavilions, hosting 79 companies.
India has the fourth largest economy in the world and its jewelry sector is one of the country's largest foreign exchange earner, some 13 percent.
“In 2008-09, India’s highest exports of polished diamonds were to Hong Kong,” said GJEPC Chair Rajiv Jain. "In coming years I hope that this relationship between our countries strengthens and develops.”
The Hong Kong trade fair opens Monday and runs until September 26.
