GJF Announces 2012 Jewelry Industry Awards
December 22, 11(IDEX Online News) - The All India Gem & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), the apex body of the jewelry retail industry in India, has announced the second edition of its National Jewellery Awards (NJA) for 2012.
The awards ceremony will take place in Mumbai on January 6, 2012, the first day of the IIJS Signature show, which is attended by gem and jewelry retailers and manufacturers from all over the country. The awards are intended to recognize talent and excellence in the industry countrywide.
Recognizing every aspect of the industry, the awards are adjudged in four broad categories — retail, manufacturing as judged on actual product, manufacturing as judged on systems and processes employed, and wholesale. Awards are made for sub-categories within these, with plain gold-, diamond-, gemstone-, traditional- and platinum jewellery all being judged separately. These sub-categories are further subdivided, with jewelry being judged specifically in the designer, contemporary and bridal segments.
The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is the primary sponsor for the event.
