December 27, 11The Sparkle of My Life by Kelly Roose |
“The Sparkle of My Life,” was submitted by Kelly Roose of Madison, WI, and describes the connection that jewelry had to the birth of her first child. She captioned her winning photo with, “They aren't just rings; they represent the day we started the best thing life has to offer: our family.”
The Sparkling Snapshots Contest was launched by the Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America (JA).
Roose was referred to the contest by JA Member Goodman’s Jewelers in Madison, Wisconsin. JA Members had the opportunity to use the contest to connect with their customers using free, turnkey marketing materials provided by JIC.
“JIC created the Sparkling Snapshots Contest to celebrate those moments and help reinforce the significance of fine jewelry in consumers’ lives,” said JA director of Communications Amanda Gizzi. “We received hundreds of entries that clearly illustrate how people can view their jewelry as more than just accessories but rather as symbols of precious memories.”
As the contest winner, Kelly Roose received a luxurious spa getaway for two to the Montage Deer Valley Resort and Spa in Park City, Utah; a True Knots diamond necklace; a Louis Vuitton travel jewelry case donated by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company; and a feature in the “MC Notes” section of Marie Claire magazine.
The top 25 finalists received a blackened sterling silver and black spinel necklace by Jane Basch Designs, a Shutterfly.com gift card donated by GE Capital and a signed copy of Nina Garcia’s Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occasion.
