Largest Fancy Intense Pink Ever Auctioned and Other Delights

(IDEX Online News) – Christie’s upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale looks set to be another record-breaking auction. On the block are a one-of-a-kind jewel from JAR, vivid Burmese rubies and sapphires and important jadeite jewelry, all joining a 12.04 carat fancy intense pink diamond.

The dramatic diamond ring by famed contemporary jeweler, JAR is set with three D / IF diamonds – an oval-shaped diamond of 10.67 carats at its center, flanked by two diamonds of 6.07 and 6.04 carats. The ring is estimated at $2.5 -$3.5 million.

A 6.04-carat Burmese ruby and diamond ring by Etcetera is looking for a new owner. Estimated at $2.5-$3.8 million, the cushion-shaped stone possesses the most desirable ‘pigeon’s blood red’ color and an extraordinary degree of transparency.

Burmese ruby over 5 carats, particular those gems that have not undergone any thermal enhancement such as this stone, are extremely rare.

As previously reported, also on the auction block is the Martian Pink Diamond, the largest round fancy intense pink diamond to ever appear at auction. The 12.04 carat diamond is estimated by Christie's at $8-$10.
